Ulrike Tenschert was born on August 17th 1960 in Klagenfurt in Carinthia in Austria, and studied Art Education and Textile Creation between 1979 and 1990 at the Academy of Fine Art (Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Vienna with professors Eckert, Prachensky and Schulz.
After teaching for several years at a high school near Vienna Ulrike Tenschert has been living since 2005 as freelance artist on an island on the Croatian Adriatic.
